The International School of Krakow (ISK) is the only not-for-profit, fully internationally accredited program for children aged 3 to 18 in southern Poland. ISK provides a high-quality standards-based education to the international community in Krakow. Our students represent 32 nationalities, and our teaching staff of 78 are certified educators in their home countries of the US, Canada, France, UK, Australia, Italy, Spain, and Poland. In addition to being accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) and authorized by the International Baccalaureate, ISK is also supported by the US Department’s Office of Overseas Schools and is a member of the Central and Eastern European Schools Association (CEESA).
Located in the pastoral setting of the Lusina woods, ISK provides individualized instruction in small class sizes with a teacher-student ratio of 1:5. The curriculum includes US Common Core and international standards, and its progression culminates in the prestigious International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme. The language of instruction is English; a selection of native and foreign language instruction is offered. The Early Years program supports social, emotional, and academic learning through inquiry-based experiences. In the Elementary School, students engage in hands-on, inquiry-based learning that supports critical thinking, creativity, and collaboration. Secondary and IB Diploma students are challenged to innovate and direct their own learning. Our 2024 graduates earned an average IB Diploma Score of 36, 6 points higher than the world average of 30. Fifty-three percent of our students achieved results in the top-scoring bands.
ISK offers over 50 extracurricular clubs and activities, including sports, creative and performing arts, academic, and special interests. Our Secondary students may participate in 30 organized inter-school events, both locally and within our CEESA region in Europe. Events include football, volleyball, basketball, cross country, knowledge bowl, choir, and speech and debate competitions.
